29-year-old woman charged with running people over outside of Frank's Place
South Bend Police Department SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Prosecutors charged 29-year-old, Shakura Wells, after they say she ran over three people and dragged a woman through the street using her car.
On Jan. 7, at approximately 4:20 p.m., South Bend Police Department was dispatched to Frank's Place.
According to the case file, Wells got into an argument with the passenger in her vehicle over a food container in her car.
The passenger was outside of the car at the time, along with her daughter and another woman.
After a brief struggle, investigators said Wells reversed her car, running over the three passengers.
A purse belonging to one of the women was left in the car.
Wells admitted she threw it in a dumpster near Memorial Hospital.
Wells was charged Tuesday with three counts of Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, a level five felony, three counts of Criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a level six felony, three counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident causing Bodily Injury, a misdemeanor, and one count of Theft, a misdemeanor.
A court date has not been set.
