30-year-old sentenced to over 20 years in prison for distributing meth
Santiago Ortiz-Ruvalcaba SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced a 30-year-old man was sentenced to over two decades in prison after pleading guilty on Wednesday to five counts of Distribution of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.
The man, identified as Santiago Ortiz-Ruvalcaba of South Bend, was sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
Documents in the case reveal Ortiz-Ruvalcaba sold methamphetamine to buyers on five occasions from November 2023 to January 2025.
Officials say on one occasion, Ortiz-Ruvalcaba sold fentanyl and two firearms as well.
When authorities searched his home, police located a scale for weighing drugs, baggies, ammunition, and a handgun.
Police say Ortiz-Ruvalcaba has associations with the Latin Kings gang and several prior felony convictions.
