34-year-old South Bend man sentenced to 20 years in prison for arson

SOUTH BEND, Ind.  – 34-year-old South Bend resident, Quintin Ferguson, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and two years of supervised release after pleading guilty to arson, according to United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana.

According to documents, in January of 2021, Ferguson intentionally set fire to an apartment unit in Granger. 

The fire then spread to the rest of the building, affecting over a dozen apartments.

Apartment residents escaped uninjured thanks to the fast action of local emergency rescue crews and authorities.

Documents state Ferguson was not only captured on video starting the fire, but the coordinates from the GPS monitor he was wearing, placed him at the scene of the fire.
