DOWAGIAC, Mich. – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians will hold its 34th Annual Pokagon Pow Wow August 31 and September 1.
The celebration includes indigenous singing, dancing and culture to draw in people to compete for prize money at the Pow Wow.
Vendors will be selling native artwork, jewelry, crafts and food.
“This is a big celebration that we have out here. We’re celebrating our culture, we’re celebrating the end of harvest season. It’s a contest Pow Wow- people come from all over the country, natives come from all over the country in their finest regalia," said Kathy Fodnesf, a pottery artist.
