911 outage affecting customers in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Mich. - Service to 911 in Eau Claire, Pipestone Township, and Berrien Township may be out due to an equipment failure on Monday evening, according to the Berrien County Public Safety Communication Center.

The outing was reported at 5:40 p.m.

Because of the equipment failure, some customers with a 269-461 prefix may not be able to dial 911 at this time.

If you are in the outage area and have an emergency, you should first try dialing 911 to determine if the outage affects your line. If it does, call the communication center's temporary emergency line at 1-866-630-7679.

Please do not call 911 if you do not have an emergency but want to check if it works for your line.

Officials do not yet know when the issue will be resolved.
