911 Tapes shed light on missing Michiana doctor

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Search and rescue efforts to locate a local doctor missing in Colorado were suspended Tuesday around noon because of the weather.

Dr. James McGrogan was hiking with friends when they decided to take a break. He decided to go on and hasn't been seen since.

"I just want to report a missing person, and I can't get cell reception except to 911," said an unidentified caller to 9-1-1.

Crews started searching for McGrogan on Friday, after the 911 call was made.

"A member of our party went ahead, he's in very good shape, he does ironmans and is a triathlete," said the unidentified caller to 9-1-1.

After nearly a week, the search was called off Tuesday because of dangerous weather. Crews said they were experiencing white out conditions and high winds.
