BUCHANA. Mich. -- Senior veterans were honored at the Therapeutic Equestrian Center (TEC) by way of horseback riding.
The celebration showcased their horses, volunteers, and programming.
TEC is a non-profit North American for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) Path premier accredited facility that helps children and adults with disabilities through equine assisted activities.
The day started with a veteran riding skills competition.
Vietnam veteran and Chairman of Riders for Valors, Nick Jones took part of the competition and has been using the facilities for over two years.
"It was by watching myself progress from when I started here at the Tech Veterans Program to where I am now, and it just bloomed from there," Jones said.
The center also received a $1,000 check from Buchanan Scarecrow charities, to assist in future operations.
