PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Notre Dame’s offense has been one of the strongest in college football this season and this weekend, they’ll face one of the toughest defenses in the ACC when they take on Pitt.

Earlier this week, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi gave a strange response when asked about the matchup. But one thing is clear: this game is strength versus strength. Pitt’s defense is physical and disciplined, but Notre Dame’s offense is creative, fast, and explosive.

Through nine games, Notre Dame has averaged almost 462 yards per game. Quarterback CJ Carr has already thrown for more than 2,200 yards, showing calmness and confidence, even in tough weather. Carr says growing up in the Midwest helped him handle anything — rain, snow, and everything in between.

Behind him, running back Jeremiyah Love continues to grow his Heisman buzz. He’s just under 1,000 rushing yards and already has double-digit touchdowns. Love says the credit goes to the whole team and the way they’ve worked together this season.

In the passing game, Jordan Faison has become Carr’s top target, passing 540 receiving yards so far. The Irish are also efficient on third down, converting almost 46 percent of the time, and the offensive line has been strong — giving up only 1.1 sacks per game.

With Notre Dame’s offense clicking and Pitt’s defense coming in strong, this matchup has all the ingredients for an exciting game.
