Calm morning, stormy afternoon
The snow begins Wednesday afternoon around 3:00 PM and will become most intense after 5:00 PM. The final totals for four to six inches will not be overwhelming in the end. However, most of the snowfall is between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The period travel will be difficult and if plan around the period, you'd save yourself a headache. There's a lull in the snow overnight but you should still plan for extra time Thursday morning, a few lake effect snow showers are likely in the snow belt.
The clouds clear for a lovely Friday, Valentines Day. The weekend however is messy with a few rounds of snow, possibly winter mix as well. The difference between the weekend and Wednesday is the snowfall is spread out over two days, though final totals may be similar.
Next week is cold again, with lows in the single digits.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Low 22.
Wednesday: PM snow. High 28.
Thursday: AM snow showers. High 26.
Friday: Partly cloudy. High 28.
