AAA predicts 5 percent increase in holiday travel

The Fourth of July is creating a travel dilemma for Americans. This year's holiday falls on a Wednesday.

But that isn't stopping people from traveling. AAA is predicting that more than 42 million Americans will take to the road this holiday.

That's up nearly 5 percent over last year.

"Gas prices are going down at the same time airfare is going up," Genevieve Brown, ABC News Travel and Lifestyle editor, said. "This may by the summer that people actually get back to taking road trips."

According to AAA, 84 percent of all holiday travelers will be hitting the road.
