Accumulating snow, bitter cold through midweek

After an unseasonably warm first weekend of February 2016, a more typical winter pattern returns for the work week.  Snow moves in Monday morning and continues into Wednesday, with the heaviest lake effect snow bands picking up late Monday night into Tuesday morning when the wind direction will pick up out of the northwest.  Through Wednesday, towns in Berrien and Cass County will likely see more than 8” of snow over that 72 hour period.  Below breaks down the snowfall forecast at 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours and what to expect through midweek.

Sunday Night – Monday Night (24 Hours)
Likely seeing an inch or less for most of Michiana.  Monday night is when the lake effect snow will pick up in strength and in area.

Sunday Night – Tuesday Night (48 Hours)

Sunday Night – Wednesday Night (72 Hours)

Overall, besides the accumulating snowfall, we will also have gusty winds at times, producing blowing and drifting snow.  Reduced visibility is expected under heavier snow bands.
