SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- An Adult Book Fair was held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Indiana Whiskey Company, in collaboration with the Golden Dome Pizza Company, Brain Lair Books, and the Portage Collective.
Adults came out and enjoyed browsing through books and stationery brought by Brain Lair Books.
Vendors from The Portage Collective sold their products and The Golden Dome Pizza Company suppling pizza.
Kathy Burnette, owner of Brain Lair Books, stated, "Our bookstore is special. We are very niche. We work a lot with bringing underrepresented voices to the table. So, getting people to read outside of the normal tradition of book talk books, and introducing them to other cultures, I feel like is an important thing. And right now, more than ever, I think we connect by reading fiction. Fiction builds empathy."
