Aerial Adventure Park to open in Rum Village
A new addition is coming to Rum Village in South Bend over the weekend. The new addition will allow people to see the park from a different angle than ever before.
It is an Aerial Adventure Park and is located within Rum Village Park. It is made up of different obstacles and ziplines that allow people to go from tree to tree.
“It's a great way to experience the park. It’s exciting. Up in the trees you kind of get to see the vantage point where the birds have been looking at it from all this time,” said Adventure Park Manager Vincent Gresham.
There are five different courses that range from beginner, moderate, to advanced.
People can be challenged as much or as little as they want. “It might be climbing across some ropes. It might be that you’re climbing across some cargo net or bridge that sways a little bit,” Gresham added.
The course spans across about three to four acres. Rum Village seemed like the ideal location because of the natural resources.
"We got great trees for it. This corner of the park there wasn’t a whole lot going on and these big trees here are perfect for it, big tall Oak trees mostly that we’re in,” Gresham said.
The opening will be Saturday at 10 a.m. Tickets can be bought here. From August 20 to September 2, guests can get 30% off tickets by using the discount code "WELCOME."
