Afternoon storm drops hail in Michiana

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Parts of Michiana had heavy rain and hail Wednesday afternoon. Many Granger residents said the storm came out of nowhere and dropped hail the size of marbles.

The rain lasted several hours but the hail lasted only a short time.

"I was in my office on the computer and I knew it was raining because I heard the rain. And all of a sudden I heard this loud clanking on the windows and I thought, 'That's hail.' So I looked out because it was pretty loud and I came out to check my car and thank god there is no damage," said Granger resident Jeanne Martin.

So far it doesn't appear there was any damage from the storm, just slow traffic from the rain.
