Alcohol could be factor in Cass County accident

CASS COUNTY, Mich. — Police say alcohol appears to be a factor involving a Cass County crash.

The accident happened on Bertrand Street around 5 a.m. Friday. 

Initial reports show the car lost control, spun and then struck a tree. Emergency responders were called when one person in the car wasn't able to get out.

Two teens were involved in the accident. Landon VanWinkle, 18, was taken to Lakeland Hospital for treatment. Terrin Norris, 17, was involved in the accident but was not transferred to the hospital.
