Annual Corn Roast and Fallen Officer Scholarship Ride at South Bend FOP Lodge #36
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend FOP Lodge #36 will host its annual Corn Roast and Fallen Officer Scholarship Ride on Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.
Organizers say each year the FOP hosts a motorcycle ride in honor of one of SBPD’s fallen officers.
This year's ride will honor Corporal Nick Polizzotto, who was shot and killed on April 24, 2007, while investigating a shots fired report in the 1700 block of Lincolnway East in South Bend.
The ride will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, with registration starting at noon at the South Bend Police Department at 701 W. Sample St. Registration is $25 for each rider and $40 for a rider and passenger.
Organizers say all riders will receive a t-shirt and entry, food, and drink for the annual Corn Roast.
The ride will start at SBPD and end at the FOP #36 grounds at 25327 IN-23.
The roast will have sweet corn, pork, sausage, beans, and coleslaw and costs $15 for all you can eat.
The Corn Roast is family-friendly and will have live music and a kids zone.
Organizers say the money raised will go toward the FOP’s scholarship fund, which is awarded to college-bound students to help further their education.
Participants can pre-register here or show up in-person on Saturday at SBPD.
