Applications open for Fall Citizens Police Academy in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Applications are open for the South Bend Police Department's Fall 2026 Citizens Police Academy, with the free learning opportunity starting in August.

On Monday, ABC57's Jordan Tolbert spoke with Sgt. Jarveair Bourn about what you can expect from the academy and how to get involved.

From Aug. 11 to Oct. 6, the Citizens Police Academy will teach community members about different units within the department every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. To learn more about the academy, you can look at the application to join the events.
