Ball State's campus no longer locked down

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Several buildings on the Ball State campus were on lockdown on Friday because of reports of a gun in the recreation and wellness building. A Ball State University alert from campus police says that the lockdown is now over.

The alert says that the all-clear signal has been given to the university and that students and faculty should resume normal activities.

At 4:58 p.m., university officials wrote on their alert system that there were reports of a gun and the "University Police Department is securing and assessing the situation in HP, Lewellen, Rec Center and the Arena."
