Barn fire destroys expensive tools

UNION, Mich. -- Some tools worth thousands were lost in a Tuesday morning fire.

The barn caught fire around 9:00 a.m. near State Line Road in Cass County.

The owner told ABC57 that fire crews were able to save a few things but not the $160,000 worth of tools.

The owner of the barn plans to rebuild.

"Oh, I could rebuild anything, big truck, dozers and whatever," said Billy Ferguson, lost tools. “Tear it down and rebuild, it's all we can do, you know, take the bad with the good.”

Neither the structure nor the tools were insured.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
