Bed bug convention in Las Vegas looks to find new ways to fight the bug

LAS VEGAS -- Some people might get the creepy crawlies about a Las Vegas convention.

This week is the bed bug summit and it is giving people in the pest management industry a chance to share information about the invasive insects.

The technology to detect bed bugs has increased greatly.

And now, places especially like hotels are using these detection devices to help stop the bed bug problem.

"If you see one of these in your hotel room, you shouldn't be concerned. because it shows that the hotel is taking proactive steps to protecting you from bed bugs," Catherine Bernard of FMC Professional Solutions said.

Las Vegas is the number 13 city with bed bug infestations. And that was part of the reason why organizers decided to host the convention in the city.
