BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - The Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education voted Thursday to appoint Interim Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Butts as Superintendent of the corporation, pending contract negotiations.
Dr. Butts has served as Interim Superintendent since the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.
Before that, he was a principal at Fairplain Middle School.
The school corporation’s former superintendent, Dr. Andrae Townsel, resigned from the role last June.
