Benton Harbor leaders headed for civic training

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- City leaders in Benton Harbor are headed into their second installment of civic training.

Next week the session is on local government.

In his weekly video address on YouTube, the city's mayor James Hightower says there was a misunderstanding in the community about what powers the mayor has over city workers.

"The training is to give clarity to the roles and responsibility of the commission and if adhere to it will certainly aid in better governance," said Mayor Hightower.
