BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Next year’s fiscal budget was discussed at a public hearing in Benton Harbor on Wednesday.
The public was invited to voice opinions regarding the millage rate, proposed budget and other amendments.
Some departments have seen reductions of nearly $500,000.
“We’re good, we’re good, it is that we can go out and buy the latest Bentley, no. But we can ride in an Impala if we need to so we’re good,” said Darwin Watson, Benton Harbor City Manager.
The commission is expected to vote on the next budget on June 30 where it will go into effect on July 1.
