BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Benton Harbor Area Schools Superintendent Simone Griffin, Ed.D. released a statement Tuesday in response to what is described as a confrontation between her and BHAS students.

The details of the incident are currently unknown.

The statement reads in part:

"Recently, I was involved in a confrontation that was both regrettable and unfortunate. As your Superintendent, I hold myself to the highest standards of professionalism and care, and I deeply regret that this situation occurred."

Griffin later states that she has since met with the parents and students involved, adding that they've "reached a place of mutual understanding and reconciliation.”
