SOUTH BEND, Ind – Bikers are working with The Family and Children’s Center of Saint Joseph County to put a stop to child abuse, which has spiked during the pandemic.
The Family and Children’s Center of Saint Joseph County serves more than 800 families a year, helping kids overcome abuse and neglect.
Their second annual Candy Run motorcycle ride is an event meant to bring awareness to and fund for the center’s three child abuse and neglect prevention programs.
The event will begin July 31 at 8:30 a.m. at the Family and Children’s Center on 300 South Saint Louis Blvd. in South Bend.
The cost is $15 for the first rider and $10 for an additional rider.
“This is a motorcycle ride that’s over 70 miles where we’re going to be stopping at different candy locations. We partnered with Wakarusa dime store in Wakarusa, Veni’s sweet shop in Niles, and South Bend Chocolate Company,” Claire Powell, Director of Development at the Family and Children’s Center, said.
For more information on registration or sponsorship for this event, you can visit the Family and Children’s Center’s webpage here.
