Blazer Boulevard railroad crossing reconstructed after 50 years

City of Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. --  The City of Elkhart, in partnership with Patriot Rail, celebrated the long-awaited ribbon-cutting for the newly reconstructed Blazer Boulevard railroad crossing.

Mayor Rod Roberson said, “This was one of several railroad crossings that have been particularly challenging for our community. Cars, trucks, bicycles, and school buses crossed these tracks every day, and now they can do so safely. Anytime we can make daily commuting easier and safer, it’s a win for Elkhart.”

The Blazer Boulevard was widely recognized as the most deteriorated crossing in Elkhart and significantly disrupted traffic along one of Elkhart's busiest throughfares.
