Blustery Thursday

As another system spiraled it's way towards Michiana, it spun up those northwesterly winds across Lake Michigan, not only churning up the waves, but it produced some impressive wind gusts.

One wind gust in particular registered 61 mph at the lighthouse in Michigan City earlier this afternoon.  Wind gusts in places farther inland from the lake registered wind gusts in the 40 mph range, enough to blow around the wet leaves and even some trash bins in Stevensville, Michigan reported by one ABC57 viewer.

Forecast shows that the winds will taper off as we head into Thursday night and drier weather moves in for our Friday.
