Bob Evans recalls several sausage link products

XENIA, Ohio – Bob Evans Farms, Inc. has recalled approximately 46,700 pounds of pork sausage link products due to possible contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The sausage links could be contaminated with pieces of hard plastic and were produced on Aug. 1st, 2018.

The following products should be returned to the store or thrown away:

  • 12-oz overwrap trays labeled “BOB EVANS MAPLE PORK SAUSAGE LINKS.” (Use by date of Oct. 16, 2018 or Oct. 19, 2018, and Lot Code of 8213)
  • 12-oz overwrap trays labeled “BOB EVANS BROWN SUGAR & HONEY.” (Use by date of Oct. 16, 2018, and Lot Code of 8213)
  • 12-oz overwrap trays labeled “FRESH FROM MEIJER MAPLE FLAVORED SAUSAGE LINKS.” (Use by date of Sept. 06, 2018, and Lot Code of 8213)
  • 12-oz overwrap trays labeled “GIANT EAGLE MAPLE PORK BREAKFAST SAUSAGE LINKS CARAMEL COLOR ADDED.” (Use by date of Sept. 10, 2018, and Lot Code of 8213)
  • 12-oz overwrap trays labeled “SCHNUCKS MAPLE RECIPE BREAKFAST SAUSAGE.”(Lot Code of 8213)

The potentially contaminated products were distributed to several states including Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.

Luckily, there have been no reports of consumption causing illness or injury, according to the FSIS.
