'Bogus' call to police dispatch leaves Mishawka street temporarily blocked off

ABC 57

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department confirmed to ABC57 that a person called the dispatch center, not 911, and claimed there were two dead bodies in a home on E. Lawrence Street Monday.

The call came in around 2:57 p.m., regarding a home in the 500 block of E. Lawrence Street.

Officers arrived and the area was blocked off as a precaution while authorities tried to contact the homeowner.

Authorities say they were able to speak with the homeowner, who allowed them to check the inside of his house.

Police say nothing was found and "verified the call was bogus."
