Friday is the second busiest day of the year for retailers.

It's the day after Christmas and retailers are ready.

Hope is high that customers will be spending more after the holidays than they did before Christmas because black Friday and super Saturday sales didn't live up to their predictions.

But it's not just returns that are getting people out and about early Friday morning.

Shoppers are anxious to use those gift cards before they lose value.

Jim Hood, the Founder of consumeraffairs.com, says just having a gift card can cost you.

"The card companies start to charge a monthly fee for basically doing nothing except keeping track of the fact that you have this card out there."
