ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County invited the staff of Jayco, a Middlebury RV company, to play a friendly game of basketball on the new court Jayco funded.
Jayco has had a close relationship with the club for years and when they saw the kids needed a new court to play on, they stepped in to help.
Tami Hicks, President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County, stated, “Over time our floor had deteriorated, and the edges were curling, and so we just really needed a new floor and Ken came through on a tour, saw a need, and Jayco stepped up and we’re really appreciative of that.”
Ken Walters, President, and CEO of Jayco, added, “A gym floor is just a small way to give thanks back to these guys for what they do. So many of our Jayco families have kids here in the club, we love their mission, we love what they do, and we love to be a part of it.”
Hicks says the nearly eight-month long project was well worth the wait.
The club kid Celtics took home the trophy, finishing with a two-point lead in a one-minute overtime.
But of course, everyone walked out a winner this time.
