Buchanan family picks up the pieces after massive house fire

BUCHANAN, Mich. -- Now to the latest on a massive house fire in Buchanan.

A family is picking up the pieces following Saturday night's fire.

Investigators think it may have started in the chimney.

The family was at home when they noticed the roof and upper level of their home was on fire.

They did manage to make it out safely.

A neighbor said she has never seen anything like it!

"I've never seen a fire of that intensity and to me, I didn't think they were going to be able to save any of the house. It looked like it was all going to go, but I'm glad that some of it is still standing," said Lori Pawielski, a neighbor.

Family members told ABC57 News that they have a lot of support during this difficult time.
