Businesses calling Eat, Drink, Downtown South Bend a success

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Eat, Drink, Downtown South Bend kicked of this week and businesses are already calling it a success.

Signs are plastered all over downtown South Bend trying to attract customers to support and try the tastes of downtown South Bend businesses.

The manager of the South Bend Chocolate Company said the event is to bring more people to the downtown area.

"They have cheesecake, wine, there will be carriage rides," said Kim Vidt. "So, just a great opportunity to see what the downtown South Bend area has to offer."

She says every year the event brings people from not just South Bend but from Mishawaka, Granger and cities from far away.

"It's just a joy to see all the visitors coming from around the entire area," said Vidt.

This year, 12 businesses are participating in Eat, Drink, South Bend.

Restaurants are featuring multiple course meals or dinners for two for $30. You can even support the Food for Kids backpack program by adding an extra helping.
