Businesses struggling to open after tornado

MOORE, Okla. — A week after a devastating tornado ripped through Moore, Oklahoma, business owners there are having a difficult time getting back up and running.

Even though debris piles are starting to slowly disappear, the devastation is still apparent, especially to businesses.

City officials say that last week's storm will have a tremendous effect on sales tax revenues.

"We have lost our shoppers and we have lost some of our base of retail," said Deidre Ebrey. "We do have an inordinate amount of people coming to volunteer and to assist and help."

City officials say that so far all of the businesses impacted do have insurance. However, if additional help is needed, FEMA is also available.
