New Buffalo Area Schools to build workforce housing
WARSAW, Ind. -- Restaurants and businesses are closing due to the lack of staff.
On May 13, Richards Restaurant is set to close after being open for decades, due not having enough members on their to cover shifts.
The Warsaw staple has been closing early before deciding to close down, with hopes of reopening after the unemployment enhancement goes away.
Michael Stevens, owner of Express Employment Professionals says even though thousands of jobs are opening across the state, the supply of workers is not matching the current demand as more companies re-open.
"The job seekers in our community, there’s just not enough to fill all of the open opportunities available in the public." said Owner of Express Employment Professionals, Michael Stevens.
Many local Warsaw residents are sad to see the restaurant and says it was unexpected news.
"It’s going be missed. We come here a lot. It’s a lot of good memories here. Family and it’s just hard to get." said local resident, James Woodcox.
