Vehicle shot at on I-65

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police report a vehicle hit by gunfire on I-65 in Highland.

According to officials the incident happened at approximately 6:20 p.m. Friday evening.

A 19-year-old employee of a local car dealership reported one of their vehicles had been hit during transportation from Carmel, Indiana.

The employee stated that that he was headed northbound on I-65 when a silver car with two passengers pulled alongside him and shortly after he heard "shots" being fired.

The employee described the vehicle as a silver Chevrolet Camaro with Illinois plates, and all the passengers as black males.

Officials say the employee was uninjured but the Kia that he was driving did have a bullet hole in the rear passenger door.
