Bristol Data Center rezoning approved despite heated opposition
SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- An email from management to Castle Point Apartment residents raised eyebrows on Monday evening.
The original email said children under 18 without an adult present will be detained by police and child abandonment/neglect charges will be filed along with an eviction notice given to the residents.
This email is all in response to a supposed uptick in vandalism with children out in the late hours of the night according to the management.
The management of the complex declined to be interviewed, and unhappy residents did not want to go on camera.
Later that same day Castle Point management sent out an updated email to tenants clarifying that the new rules only apply to unsupervised children 5-year-old or younger.
“The county police department have no opinion or comment on the email from Castle Point management, other than to just clarify that DCS typically handles investigations of child neglect/abandonment, also the act of a child being unattended does not alone equate to neglect/abandonment," said the Saint Joesph County Police Department.
