Catholic school tells Indiana girl she play football

A 14 year old old middle school student in Indiana was denied the chance to play football, all because she's a girl.

This past Sunday Cece Lucia made two successful kicks for St. Simon Middle School in Hamilton County, Indiana. But once Catholic youth organization leaders found out she was playing they pulled the plug on the game.

The director of the Catholic youth organization defended the decision to ban the girl from football.

Ed Tinder said, "It's consistent with the policy we have across all of our sports and I can certainly understand and appreciate I really understand people's concerns about it but our policies are written and revised for an entire program not one particular sport."

Lucia has received a tremendous amount of support through social media, including Indianapolis Colts kicker Pat McAfee.
