SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- When Rebecca Bartol, owner of Femme Fatale Guns & Sports, heard that her store was being broken into, she thought it was just another attempt to get into the building.
"My first thoughts were 'Great! Again!' in the most sarcastic way you can say it," said Bartol. "It does happen, I didn't have any fear that they really got in because you really cant get through this glass."
However, when she finally saw the store's surveillance video, she couldn't believe her eyes. "We were all just laughing, because obviously it’s a video of 'America’s Dumbest Criminals'," said Bartol.
In the security video, you see the suspect throwing a rock a window, then hurling his body at the window before trying to kick it and then falling onto the sidewalk. The suspect, 27 year old Henry Cooks, was arrested shortly after allegedly failing to break into the store.
Cooks is charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Bartol says this alleged failed break in should serve as a warning to anyone thinking about trying to get through the store's reinforced glass.
"They try to break it and come in which they don’t need to keep trying to test it," said Bartol. "It’s not going to break so please quit trying to test it."
