Cause of death revealed for woman who died after Fort Wayne Tim Hortons fight
WPTA FOT WAYNE, Ind. -- We now know the cause of death of the woman who died following a fight involving employees at a Fort Wayne fast food restaurant.
Our reporting partners at WPTA in Fort Wayne say 75-year-old Anita Grayson died of acute exacerbation of congestive heart failure in setting of physical altercation.
Grayson died May 13 after an apparent fight with employees at the Fort Wayne Tim Hortons. According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, surveillance video shows Grayson entering the restaurant to address an issue with a drive-in order, which escalated into a fight with two employees. After the fight, investigators Grayson lied on the floor, where she was ultimately found unresponsive.
Footage released by FWPD was edited; the uncut video has not been released to the public. Grayson's family has seen the footage and has advocated for its release.
Grayson's manner of death is still under investigation. Her family has retained national civil rights attorney Ben Crump and attorney Sue-Ann Robinson in this case.
