ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- On Monday night the St. Joesph County Fire Territory was dispatched for a reported structure fire.
Upon the firefighters' arrival, they found a chicken coop engulfed in flames.
Fire officials say the incident was handled safely and efficiently, and crews worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent any spending to other structures.
The SJCFT is also reminding the public that outbuildings, sheds, and coops can pose a serious fire risk, even with heaters, electrical wiring, or open flames during colder months.
Fire officials ask that you double check your setups and keep combustibles clear.
