ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- On the evening of Dec. 15, the St. Joesph County Fire Territory was dispatched for a reported structure fire. 

Upon the firefighter's arrival, they found a chicken coop fully inflamed. 

The incident was handled safely and efficiently, and crews worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent any spending to other structures. 

The St. Jospeh County Fire Territory would like to remind everyone that outbuildings, sheds, and coops can pose a serious fire risk, even with heaters, electrical wiring, or open flames during colder months, so please double check your setups and keep combustibles clear.
