NILES, Mich. -- With the end of April came an end to child prevention month but students in Niles say the awareness needs to continue.
Colorful pinwheels can now be found outside Niles High School.
It is how the students there continue to raise awareness about child abuse prevention.
"It's almost heart breaking to realize how big of a problem it is and bring to the surface an underlying problem. We won't support child abuse," said Niles High School student Devon Floor.
Studies show that 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused or exploited before their 18th birthday.
