SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Common Council held a meeting Monday night to focus on Mayor Mueller presentation of the city of South Bend's finances.
After the presentation, the meeting became tense due to multiple people being concerned with affordable housing and elderly with a fixed income.
South Bend Mayor James Mueller stated the city is in good economic standing and the future they plan on prioritizing spending on development.
Others argued the city could be doing more to help residents already in the city, like addressing affordable housing and passing tax cuts for seniors.
