City of Goshen and Goshen Arts Council seeking community input on improving arts & culture scene

GOSHEN, Ind. – The city of Goshen and the Goshen Arts Council is looking for valuable community input on ways to improve the arts and culture scene, utilizing plans by city staff and artists to continue to build new programs that will create a positive impact on the community.

In December 2020, Goshen was one of four cities in Indiana that received the coveted Spotlight Community recognition from the Indiana Arts Commission.

This year, the city is preparing to apply for the state’s Cultural Distinct Designation, which will signify the city’s well-recognized, labeled, mix-use are with unique, authentic art and cultural identity.

“The strength in Goshen’s arts culture comes from our diverse community of artists and residents interested in making our home a better place to live,” stated Mayor Jeremy Stutsman, “we want to continue supporting this important work by collecting ideas from the community at large and helping implement them.”

Residents within city limits who complete the survey will be entered to win one of three private movie screenings for 25 people at the historic Goshen Theater, as well as chose which film to play and receive complimentary pop and popcorn.
