City of South Bend reports 53 guns reported stolen so far in 2023

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Fifty-three guns have been reported stolen across the city of South Bend so far in 2023, according to public records obtained from the South Bend Police Department. 

Eighteen guns have been recovered in the city so far this year.

The number of guns reported stolen was down slightly between 2021 and 2022, from 280 to 295, respectively.

The number of guns recovered has also gone down, from 603 in 2021 to 538 in 2022.

On Tuesday, police recovered a stolen firearm while apprehending 18-year-old Quadir Quiroz and 20-year-old Tavian Logan in connection with an armed robbery on January 21.
