Coleman plans to run for Indiana's 2nd Congressional District

Lynn Coleman announced Wednesday he plans to file to run for Indiana's 2nd Congressional District.

Coleman is a former South Bend Police officer.

In a press release, Coleman stated, "My whole life has been one of public service -- as a school security guard, a police officer in South Bend, an assistant to former Mayor Stephen Luecke and as a community volunteer with organizations like the South Bend Violence Intervention organization. For me, running for Congress is an opportunity to continue serving the people of Northern Indiana. We deserve better representation than we have right now in Washington."

He added, “We can all agree that Congress is broken and that our voices are not being heard over all the noise and dysfunction. Throughout my life, I’ve worked hard to find solutions to our community’s problems. It's what I've always done, and it's what I’ll do for Hoosiers as a representative in Congress.”

According to the press release, he will file later this week and will kick off his campaign in January.
