Common Council to read smoke-free air ordinance

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend is one step closer to being smoke-free.

On Monday night, the Common Council plans to have their first official reading of the bill.

It was formally submitted on Wednesday.

It would make all indoor public places, including bars, smoke-free. The only exception would be in private clubs.

The bill could be open for public comment as soon as June 25.
