"Cookies for Troops" supports National Guard, Girl Scouts
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Love Girl Scout cookies but want to skip the calories? Here's a sweet way you can give back to not one, but two great groups without sacrificing your diet!
"Cookies for Troops" offers members of the community a chance to buy boxes of Girl Scout cookies which are then sent to Indiana National Guard soldiers serving overseas. The Girl Scouts say it's a nice way to say "thank you."
"It's important to help our troops because they're the people that are helping our country and it's just really nice to give them a hand because they're protecting us," says Girl Scout Abby Feltzer.
A percentage of the proceeds from cookie sales also stays right here in Michiana to support the local Girl Scouts.
If you haven't picked up your cookies yet, time is running out! Cookie sales end the week of March 12.
