SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The St. Joseph County Council is considering property tax relief for some homeowners.
The council spent almost 45 minutes discussing a lower property tax rate, initially for homeowners with a household income between $75,000 to $110,000 a year.
Others on the council said the relief would better benefit households making $45,000 to $60,000.
Ultimately, the council voted to table the issue until they can discuss an income range to target.
