Court releases recording of Internet Casanova hearing

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – ABC57 has the audio recording of Raymond Holycross’ first court hearing. The alleged ‘Internet Casanova’ is facing theft charges in St. Joseph County.

Police say Holycross has scammed dozens of women across the country. He allegedly met them online, romanced them, then stole their money and belongings.

He was arrested after a Mishawaka woman filed a police report when he allegedly stole her $700 camera and pawned it.

The audio recording is from Holycross’ arraignment Friday.

Judge: Will you be hiring a private attorney for your case or a public defender?
Holycross: Public defender please.
Judge: How much money do you earn at your job?
Holycross: I'm just currently unemployed.
Judge: When is the last time you worked?
Holycross: Three months ago.

Holycross is still behind bars since he hasn't been able to post $10,000 bail.

Holycross’ next court hearing is March 12th.
